We know video AND we know the business of classical music.

Everyone is feeling the pinch of a sluggish economy. But orchestras and classic music organizations are battling more than just financial woes. As the times have changed, technology now dictates how we create, deliver, and observe traditional art and music. Computers are in; vinyl is out. While many styles of music, such as Rock 'n Roll and Country, continue to thrive at the box office, most orchestras are watching their ticket sales decline.

Orchestral staff have little time to research and explore new options. So much energy is spent in development and management, there is little ingenuity and resources left for "creating outside the box", such as innovating performance with digital video technology, streaming of a concert live on the web, or even just launching a video on you tube or your own website.

For orchestras to meet these rapid changes and acquire new audiences, they need to build both an internet presence AND a concert presence. We're here to help you bridge this gap.

Concert Presence (Live Video / Multi-cam):
We offer services for live visual reinforcement (i.e. I-mag / multi-cam direction), for the house, outdoors, broadcast or streaming on the web. We also design visual atmospheres for contemporary works. While we don't see live visual reinforcement taking over formal classics concerts anytime soon, there is no reason that every Youth, Pops, Jeans or Casual Classics, and Special concert should not implement video.

Video Promotion / Development / Grants / Web Presence:

If you already have material, send it to us and we'll provide voice-overs and graphics for your promotional video. If you have the budget, we are happy to come to you and shoot a professional commercial. If not, we can hire and communicate with a local company in your area, or instruct you on how to shoot the footage yourself. You can rent a high definition camera for about $150 per day. We can coach you on how to set up the camera(s) and how to grab good audio. We can also assist you with other creative services, such as storyboard development and scriptwriting.

These options will not only enhance your website or Facebook page, but can also enrich board development, grants, tours, and educational material. Media-rich websites communicate relevant information in a fraction of the time that traditional marketing requires. And in today's world, you can't afford not to have a real-time web presence.

Need something visual for that contemporary piece that might scare the audience away? We love to design and choreograph visual imagery to music, ESPECIALLY contemporary music!

Consulting:

Every orchestra can and should own a video system capable of producing live concert video and promotional footage.  Unlike any other time in history, audiences are visual and expect media. They not only seek information online, but more often than not, they also seek their entertainment online too.  Even just a 30 second clip posted on your website that demonstrates the magnitude and allure of your orchestra can increase interest, open up new audiences, and boost sales.

While budgets are tight for everyone no matter the industry, the good news is that as technology improves, it also becomes more affordable.  Regularly renting equipment will never be cost-effective, even when you barter for its use.

In the upcoming weeks Volti Subito will be posting informational PDFs in our Knowledge Base that will help orchestras learn more about acquiring and managing their own systems. We will also provide helpful instruction for multi-cam directing. Until then, if you have questions, please call or write.

Volti Subito's mission is to provide video services and consulting for artists and organizations in the business of classical music.
